What is RCDD?

A Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD®) is an individual who has demonstrated knowledge in the design, integration and implementation of telecommunications and data communications technology systems and related infrastructures.

Meet Mark Holtzclaw, RCDD

I started right out of high school in 1985, I took some college courses in electronics, went to a pole climbing school for Viacom, known today as Comcast. I got a job with Henkel’s & McCoy and started working, installing structured cabling and electronic key phone systems. I worked for another (4) different contractors up until 1999, working my way from technician to Estimator, Sales Engineering and Project Management, I studied hard and was able to get my RCDD in 1998.

The Company I worked for from 1990 to 1999 ended up going out of business. In 1999, I started Pro 1 Communications and was President of the Company until the end of 2021. Covid really put a hurt on the Company, and I had a partner that went his own way as well. I started Claw Communications with my son, Andrew, and hit the ground running in January 2022. Today we are going strong, I wouldn’t change a thing.

Meet Andrew Holtzclaw, RCDD

I started in telecommunications in 2009, working for my dad during the summers while I was still in high school. I’ve always been good working with my hands, so when I started this work, there was natural comfort. Fast forward 5 years and I got a job as a Field Technician for Coca-Cola fixing soda machines.

Learned a ton of new skills and how to deal with customers 1 on 1. I left Coca-Cola in October of 2017 and continued working under my dad’s company pulling cable and getting more advanced and knowledgable in the trade.

In 2021 things weren’t looking so great for the company due to Covid and the restrictions that came with it, leaving my dad to shut it down with his old partner. A few months later we decided to start a company together. Claw Communications was born to continue the legacy of great work. We've been hard at it ever since. This is where fate has landed us and I feel it’s where we belong.
